Kristen Wright graduated from Columbus North High School in May of 2008 with Academic Honors. She has been singing all her life and was very involved in Mill Race Players and the Columbus Indiana Children’s Choir as a child.  As a student at Columbus North, she participated in many choral groups under the direction of Janie Gordon and was President of the 25th Street Vocal Jazz Singers her senior year. She had the pleasure of participating in two Butler University Vocal Jazz Festivals and was a 2008 All-State Vocal Jazz Ensemble member. During the summer of 2006, Kristen spent three weeks in Europe singing with the Indiana Ambassadors of Music Choir. The following summer, she attended the Berklee College of Music Stage Performance Workshop in Boston, MA after receiving the local Psi Iota Xi Sorority’s Elsie Sweeny Memorial Music Scholarship. She has also been the recipient of a Bartholomew County Youth Leadership Scholarship and an Academic Scholarship to Belmont University.

Kristen’s proudest achievement has been winning the Anna Newell Brown Competition for Vocal Excellence.  She has had the honor of studying voice with Sarah Kittle Mara and has taken master classes from another Columbus vocalist, Jane Dutton. In addition to her music study in classical and jazz, Kristen also loves to write music and play guitar. Throughout her high school career she played at many area venues and benefit concerts. Kristen is currently studying Commercial Music with an emphasis in Music Business at Belmont University in Nashville, TN where she is pursuing her dream of becoming a singer/songwriter.
